Head of Finance & Operations

At O My Bag, we’re building the foundation for our next growth phase. To help us scale smarter, we’re looking for a strategic and hands-on Head of Finance & Operations who will act as the glue between our people, priorities and processes.

This is a key leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment, loves to solve and brings structure without slowing things down. You’ll lead the Finance & Operations team and take on a broader Amsterdam Lead role — making sure our HQ runs smoothly, team priorities stay sharp and the leadership team performs at its best.


Your mission

Build and lead a strong operational and financial backbone that supports our local and international growth. You’ll ensure clarity, structure and accountability across the business, enabling smarter decisions, better collaboration and a smooth daily operation.

First-Year Priorities

🎯 Embed the Data Dashboards across teams to drive real-time, data-informed decisions.
🎯 Identify and drive cost savings through improved processes and vendor negotiations.

🎯 Strengthen leadership routines: drive meeting rhythm, accountability and follow-up.

🎯 Act as the Amsterdam Lead – from keeping day-to-day priorities clear to being the go-to for problem-solving and team flow.


Your Role & Responsibilities


Finance & Business Planning

  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and financial reporting.

  • Manage relationships with our accountant, banks, controller and financial partners.

  • Lead strategic financial planning and scenario thinking for our international scale-up.

  • Monitor profitability, margins and cost-saving opportunities.

Operations & Tech

  • Lead daily operations across logistics, legal, HR, customer service, IT and office management.

  • Own and optimize our systems and processes — from back-office tools to everything that keeps our online store running smoothly.

  • Drive digital transformation and ensure our operational tech is future-proof.

  • Lead key ops projects (e.g. US returns, local warehousing, operational KPI’s)

  • Drive the smart use of AI across all teams, actively exploring how it can enhance our work and future growth.


Amsterdam Lead & Team Accountability

  • Moderate leadership meetings and ensure focus, cadence and clear follow-up.

  • Keep goals and priorities on track, flag issues early and help resolve them.

  • Guard accountability across the team – from follow-up to clear ownership.

  • Partner with our Head of People on team culture and leadership behaviours.

  • Support managers in strong communication, decision-making and feedback.

Job requirements

About you

✔ Fluent in Dutch (native) and English, both written and spoken.
✔ 5+ years of experience in a senior Finance and / or Operations role (e.g. COO, Head of Operations / Finance), ideally in a scale-up or international brand.
✔ Strong financial skills and confidence in forecasting, cash flow and legal topics.

✔ Excellent project management and process improvement skills.

✔ Tech-savvy (Shopify, analytics, ERP and digital tools).

✔ Known for clarity, structure and a practical hands-on leadership style.

✔ Thrives in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment.

✔ Based within commuting distance of Amsterdam and happy to be working from the office.

✔ Changing the word takes time, so you’re available 36-40 hours per week.
